Carol Jacoby has 28 years of experience as a systems engineer and manager in the aerospace and defense industry. She was the manager of the Hughes Mission Analysis Center of Excellence and system architect for both defense and transportation programs, where she oversaw many complex defense and transportation decisions. She has a PhD in mathematics from the University of California, Irvine and is a prize-winning motivational speaker.
She has taught systems engineering and decision analysis courses throughout the country to engineers and managers in Fortune 500 companies and government agencies. Her courses have been sponsored by UCLA, UCI, and the University of Tennessee. She is the author of numerous technical papers and the book, Simple Spreadsheets for Hard Decisions, which teaches anyone to make good decisions using their computer. She teaches public workshops in Southern California for decision-makers.
